George Paul Caster

George Paul Caster, 83, of Houston, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024.  He was born July 17, 1940, in Canonsburg, PA, a son of the late William K. and Nellie Smith Caster.  Mr. Caster was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.  He was employed as a welder for 28 years at McGraw Edison which later became Cooper Industries.  Mr. Caster then went on to work for Hankison Industries for 6 ½ years from where he retired.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Mr. Caster loved all animals, working on vehicles in his garage, and inventing things.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

On July 28, 1972, he married Frances A. Meyerhoff, who passed away on May 22, 2017.  Surviving is a son, Paul E. Cobb of Washington, PA; two daughters, Paula E. Kraushaar of Washington, PA and Georgeann Calhoun of Mt. Juliet, TN; three sisters, Betty Ellen Horton of Canton, OH, Alberta Thomas of West Alexander, PA, and Rosemary (Ralph) Smith of Miami, FL, and his best friends, Rheynee and Walter Petros of Houston, PA.  Seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Clayton Caster and William Caster.
