Anthony Lawrence Kushner

5/14/1981 - 4/6/2024
Clairton, PA

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony Kushner.  He passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 42 years of age.

Born on May 14, 1981, in Pittsburgh PA, he was a graduate of Trinity High School Class of 1999 where he lettered in baseball and football.  Anthony graduated college from West Liberty University in WV, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.  He continued his education at InterCoast College in California with a CADC Certification in 2015.  In 2023, he worked for the PA State Correctional System.  Anthony lived most of his life in Washington PA.  After living in California for 7 years, he relocated back to his hometown in 2019, desiring to be closer to his family.

He touched many lives with his genuineness and unselfish desire to help people in any way he could.  Anthony was also a teacher, mentor, and unassuming consoler to many, as he had a perceptive way of helping those in need.  He taught his brother Michael so many things, including how to play the guitar, how to drive a stick, and how to play baseball, football, and basketball.  Anthony had a major impact on his brother.

While living in California, Anthony was honored to be a member of the Orange Friendship Club.  He opened his own painting business that he continued in the Western PA area and was also a counselor to those struggling with addiction.  Anthony worked with Teen Savers where he led groups for young adults who needed mentorship.  He loved working with his hands and was a skilled craftsman and had many jobs painting houses and installing hardwood floors.

Anthony’s contagious smile, loving personality, and humble ways were hard to ignore, and he was blessed with many friends.  Anyone who knew him would recognize his undeniable laugh from a mile away, and he had an incredible sense of humor.  He truly wore his heart on his sleeve.  Also important to him was God, family, friends, playing the guitar, baseball, his love of motorcycles, and the great outdoors.  He was a lifelong learner and mastered many skills.  Anthony could fix anything and was the kind of person who would literally give you the shirt off his back, hat off his head, and shoes off his feet.

Anthony was the beloved son of Linda Kushner of Washington PA., and the late Lawrence Kushner, and loving brother, Michael Kushner of Brooklyn, NY.  He was the dear grandson of the late John and Josephine Kushner, and the late James and Concetta Delconte both formerly of Clairton, PA.  Dearly loved nephew of Terrence Kushner and Pamela Kushner of Washington PA, Stan Lowe and Rose Lowe of MD., Vincent Delconte and Bonnie Delconte of Pittsburgh PA., and John DelConte and Susan DelConte of Franklin TN.  He is also survived by his close cousins, Kristen and Matthew Hansen of Pittsburgh, Drew and Carrie Kushner of Pittsburgh, Matthew and Lindsay Lowe of MD., Melissa Lowe Dunn of MD., Maria and Mark Minerd of Pittsburgh, and Gianna and Jason DelConte of TN.  He was predeceased by his loving cousin, Domenic James Delconte of Pittsburgh, PA.
